To better support our students and improve the accuracy of our attendance records, we have installed a new attendance monitoring system across the campus.

You will simply need to touch your student pass against the reader installed in your teaching space. This will help us to record which lectures you have attended accurately, saving time better spent doing creative things!

The aim of this new system is to make things easier for both staff and students. Studies have shown there is a clear link between good attendance and achievement in higher education, and we want to make recording  your attendance and success as simple as possible.

Where needed, this system will also enable us to work with students who aren’t attending the majority of their lectures. We can then help find a solution together,  to help overcome any issues that may impact on your attendance. In the future we also plan to make it possible for students to view their own attendance history.

The Student Union team commented: “In the past, different systems for recording attendance have been used by different courses at Ravensbourne. This system means we will have consistency across all our lectures, and allows tutors at Ravensbourne to help work through any attendance issues. You just need to remember to tap your student card against the readers at the start of class - it's super simple and should make things easier for everyone!”
