Entry Clearance & Immigration

We strongly advise all international students to check the latest information and apply for entry clearance well before your departure. This should make immigration procedures on arrival much simpler.

The most recent information on entry clearance is available from the British Council, and the below document is extremely comprehensive:

'First steps guidance notes preparing for entry clearance'

In addition, you can check with your nearest British diplomatic post (i.e., Embassy, High Commission or Consulate-General) with a visa section.

The following website also contains useful information : UK VISAS

If you have any difficulties obtaining information on entry clearance please contact the College's Senior Admissions Officer.

How do I apply for Entry Clearance?

You should apply through your local British diplomatic post (i.e., Embassy, High Commission or Consulate-General) with a visa section in the country of your Nationality, or the Country you are living in. You should apply as far in advance as possible - entry clearances can be issued up to 3 months before they start.

The above information will help you with the application procedure, and the documents you will need to complete the application.

Do I need to register with the Police when I arrive in the UK?

When entering the UK, the Immigration Officer may stamp your passport with a requirement that you must register with the Police Nationality Unit.

If you are in any doubt about your requirement to register with the Police Nationality Unit, please check with the College's Senior Admissions Officer.
