Convergence
Convergence, located in the Foundation block opposite the LRC, is a bookable production resource containing nine Quad G5 Macs and nine PCs with dual monitor setups for video capture/editing and DVD production as well as sound design. PC software includes the Adobe Suite (including Audition). Nine machines have video capture decks and monitors for video editing and playback. Mac software includes the Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects and Apple's Final Cut Studio suite (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, SoundTrack Pro, Motion). You can use DVDxDV Pro on the Macs to convert your own (unencrypted) DVDs back to QuickTime movie files if you have lost the original source material. Additionally, the room contains a B/W and colour printer.
Convergence is bookable for production between 09.00 and 16.00 Monday to Friday. At all other times, this resource is open access.
